Media misinformation and of the population's trustworthiness in the CPI of Public Transportation in São Luís/MA

Abstract

This article seeks to investigate the reliability of the Ludovicense population in the CPI of Public Transport, which was established in the City Council on November 25, 2021 in the midst of a serious crisis in the transport sector with strikes of bus operators, charges from transport companies and successive increases in the value of the fare. For this analysis, the comments on Imirante's Instagram page were collected, then classified into positive and negative, for, from that, reflections on the reasons for the apparent hopelessness with this Commission based on discussions about interaction (ROST, 2014), Discourse Analysis (GILL, 2002) and the construction of power and the possibility of disinformation through discourse (VAN DIJK, 2008).

Sâmia Cristina Martins Silva, Universidade Federal do Maranhão

Teacher at the São Luís Municipal Education Network. Reporter and producer at the Portal Maranhão Independente. Master's student at the Graduate Program in Communication at the Federal University of Maranhão - Professional Master's Degree. Specialist in Methodology for Teaching Portuguese Language and Literature from Universidade Norte do Paraná. Graduated in Social Communication - Journalism at Universidade Federal do Maranhão. Graduated in Literature - Portuguese Language, Spanish Language and respective literatures at Universidade Estadual do Maranhão. She is a member of the Study Group on Slave Labor at the Federal University of Maranhão and Communication under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Flávia de Almeida Moura. Integrates the Research Group Media and Democracy at the Federal University of Maranhão under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Patricia Rakel de Castro Sena. Researches accessibility resources for people with disabilities in audiovisual products. She has experience in writing, proofreading and editing journalistic texts, social media and graphic productions for web.

PhD in Communication, by the Graduate Program in Communication, at the Federal University of Pernambuco, with PDSE in Communication Sciences at the University of Beira Interior / Portugal (Agreement No. 13-2016 UFPE), Capes Scholar - Proc. No. BEX 99999. 008304/2014-09; Master in Media Studies by the Postgraduate Program in Media Studies - PPgEM, Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte UFRN, with PROCAD sandwich scholarship at UFRJ and graduated in Social Communication with a major in Journalism, by UFRN. She was in charge of the Department of Social Communication at UFMA - Federal University of Maranhão between 2021 and 2022. She is currently an adjunct professor II at DECOM/UFMA, permanent professor and vice coordinator of the Postgraduate Program in Communication - Professional Master's Degree (PPGCOM/PRO) at UFMA. She coordinates the research line "Media and Democracy - MID" (linked to the Center for Studies in Communication Strategies - NEEC) and develops research in the areas of online journalism, digital communication, communication and gender identities, communication and feminisms, democracy, constructivism, political communication and discourse analysis.
