Abstract

The purpose of this article is a case study to map the communication strategies implemented by the University of São Paulo (USP) and Federal University of São Paulo (UNIFESP) on Facebook during the first three months of the new coronavirus pandemic, from March to May 2020. It was possible to notice that the institutions used various media devices, allowing the democratization of scientific knowledge for a wide audience, incorporating social, political, economic and corporate concerns that go beyond the limits of pure science.
