Abstract

Based on data collected from a universe of 66 (sixty-six) professors, this article proposes to investigate the impacts on legal education at public and private universities in the State of Ceará during the COVID-19 pandemic. The methodology was mainly constructed through empirical research based on the elaboration of a form in Google Forms, sent by e-mail and WhatsApp for professors from graduations and post-graduations in Law courses of public and private Universities in the State of Ceará. Bibliographical research was also realized with qualitative approach, theoretical nature and descriptive and exploratory character. The results of the analysis of the data indicate that, although the classes were preponderantly presential before the pandemic, the virtual tools provide new possibilities for legal education to meet the standards for professional development in the 21st century. It was concluded, although incipiently, that it is possible to glimpse a tendency to adapt and increase the synchronous classes in legal education in public and private universities of the State of Ceará.
