Abstract

One of the main paradoxes of contemporary society is the excess of work, connection and control, provided by the technique, as the same time that there is a job market with high unemployment, as well as precarious jobs. It is observed that, despite the cybernetic advances and the conquests of space, the overwork, a problem of the First Industrial Revolution, returns with force in our days, due to the requirement of high productivity, a fact that is amplified in an increasingly digitalized work environment, in view of the ease of connection and control of schedules and results. In this context, this article aims to study the right to disconnect as one of the pillars to achieve decent work. For the development of the work, we used the technique of bibliography research in published materials, using the deductive method of approach. As a partial conclusion, it is verified, still in the second decade of the 21st century, that workers claim, once again, old and consecrated rights, such as dignified (maximum forecast) working hours, the right to rest and leisure, as well as out of respect and understanding that private life is not to be confused with professional life.
