Violence and power: Walter Benjamin’s concept of State of Exception and some implications for the contemporary Political Philosophy

Abstract

This article intends to explain about the concept of State of Exception, and some associated concepts as the following ones: sovereignty, violence and State. We had the Walter Benjamin’s thinking as a paradigm, in special his writings where the theme was developed although we have not forgotten the context of his whole thinking. That work made by Benjamin is correlated with other ones made by Giorgio Agamben e Annie Dymetman.
