This paper aims to outline a critique of theories of justice based on a Marxian framing of capitalist production and its consequences on the phenomenon of distribution. In the first topic, it is presented some definitions of main concepts, such as production, circulation, distribution and consumption, and also a brief overview of the political economy’s method, pointing out Marx’s works through which is possible to think the phenomenon of justice and distribution in capitalist society, and how the mode of production determines that notions. In the second part, the liberal theories of justice are discussed, mainly represented by the egalitarian approach from Rawls and the conservative one from Nozick, then proceeding to the critique of non-liberal theories, such as analytical Marxism, communitarianism and republicanism. At the end of the last part, there is a brief analysis of the benefits of promoting a theory of justice that is able to deal with Marxian critique of political economy.
