VISIT TO HEALTH UNIT BY STUDENTS: AN EDUCATIVE STRATEGY FOR ADHERENCE TO THE REPRODUCTIVE PLANNING PROGRAM

Abstract

being necessary the deployment of services and attractions susceptible recognized by these adolescents as important places for support. Objective: To promote the bond and adherence of adolescent students to services offered in primary care unit, especially the reproductive planning program. Method: This is a descriptive study with educational intervention, conducted during August-October 2009 with 80 students enrolled on eighth and ninth series in a basic education school located in the coverage area of the Mal Cozinhado Family Health Strategy, in the city of Horizonte - CE. Among the strategies adopted, it was pointed out the educational visit to primary care unit. Two visits were performed, each one including 40 students. Results: Each visit lasted one hour, providing students with opportunities to get to know the dependencies of the health care unit, materials and equipment used in reproductive planning consultations. Final considerations: Performance of educational visits articulated between the school and the health unit was proven to be effective in increasing demand by adolescents to health services in the locality studied, and their consequent adherence to the health promotion proposals implemented in reproductive planning program.
