PROPOSAL FOR ASSESSING A REHABILITION CENTER
Abstract
Objective:This study reports the experiences of two students participating in the Care Network for Persons with Disabilities as part of the Education Program for Health Work (PET). Report Experience:They developed activities in a medium-complexity center, which is the reference service for healthcare of persons with disabilities in the state of Paraíba, the FUNAD. The activities aimed primarily at diagnosing the service needs and, consequently, suggesting actions to promote dialogue between users and the health team and improve the quality of the healthcare provided. Thus, we carried out a situational diagnosis in the FUNAD and detected some of its strong and weak points. We based our study on the instructive “CER IV”, which establishes the General Standards of Operation of Specialized Rehabilitation Services (GSOSRS). Then by comparing the reality identified in the service with the GSOSRS we verified the need to develop a research project assessing the quality of the service provided. We discussed this proposal with some of the management and health staff professionals, who not only agreed with but also demonstrated excitement to collaborate with the project, as they believe it brings a real opportunity for positive change in the quality of working conditions as well as of the services provided. Conclusion: It is of paramount importance to also take into account the users’ perspective, since they are receiving the care and thus know their real needs. Given that, after quality assessments, we will propose some actions in order to improve the service provided by the FUNAD. DESCRIPTORS Disabilities. Health Evaluation. Health Services.Downloads
