A CONCEPTUAL DISCUSSION

Abstract

The text discusses some definitions of foreign policy, changing similarities and differences with international relations and public policies, in addition to developing an idea of ​​the decision-making process and foreign policy policies. It was found that international relations and foreign policy have a similarity in addressing the phenomena that occur along borders and are differentiated by the fact that foreign policy is a governmental activity, different from international relations, which can be exercised by non-international actors. state-owned companies. How public policies and foreign policy differ due to the fact that foreign policy has an international element, which may not be present in other public policies; a foreign policy is also a public policy, with the international element as or different from the others. Both are assimilated by the fact that they undergo political administrative procedures and are government activities. The decision-making process is a stage of foreign policy in which different decision-making takes place, in a process that involves interaction between different actors. As decisions are guided by guidelines, which are the guidelines that make decisions must be considered when making a decision.
