Abstract

In this article we revisit notions of politics from a Latin American feminist and decolonial perspective, bringing other forms of political action from the critique of knowledge and the concept of gender and from the relation body-territory. The question that runs through the article is how to decolonize politics from feminisms, women's movements, and indigenous leaderships. There is no precise answer, but some paths are announced towards the desire of transformation of unequal and hierarchical gender relations present in Latin America. The argument is composed of a critical literature review and the originality of the article lies in the interdisciplinary dialogue inside and outside the academy, questioning academic fads towards other ways of conceiving politics and acting politically. We conclude that the materiality of gender politics in Latin America is expressed in body-territories that integrate the collective dimension of a future project, which opens new study agendas about politics and transforms existing ones.
