INDEXING AND SUBJECT ANALYSIS: AN APPROACH BASED ON THE EVALUATION OF INTERVENING FACTORS IN THESE PROCESSES

Abstract

The article promotes reflection to the indexing and the subject analysis in terms of the processes and characteristics that involve them, considering the user as part of the final product. The text ha been divided in three parts: the indexing – conceptualization and characterization, the subject analysis and the representation of the information. Detach for the indexing while an intellectual and subjective process that has as one of their stages the subject analysis. It approaches the recovery of the effective information as a consequence of the two processes worked.
