Quality of health information mediated in library according to the perception of its users
Abstract
Examines the scientific development in health through the mediation of national and university libraries abroad. Considers the provision of university libraries in health care based on quality as a factor impacting the performance of the scientific community they serve. Evaluates three libraries whose business models are different depending on: the degree of scientific development of the countries involved, number of courses offered at the university area and the employment of information technology. The study presents survey. Employs suggestion of ISO11620: 2008 for flexibility in applying indicators for quality assessment in libraries, noting the institutional features in the provision of information services. Uses quality indicators arising from the Services Marketing. So prepare a questionnaire to gather data from the internal environment of the libraries in their provision of services, and external user view (LOVELOCK; WRIGHT, 2003). In the current literature indicates that management programs are designed with little interference from the scientific community. What is available has not been sufficiently tested and does not guarantee effectiveness of information systems in its primary mission of developing the flow of scientific information. Vision articulated by Le Coadic (1996) regarding the use of information for consumption. Explains that university libraries are dependent organizations of the University; subject to receiving different external and internal influences (VERGUEIRO, [2000]), playing leading role in scientific production in the country. Therefore, the proposed studies focus on the user, breaking with models available in the literature on quality assessment in libraries.Downloads
