Community Libraries: a review of literature

Abstract

This paper aims to conceptualize the term "community library" from a literature review. Thus to address some factors that help to characterize this type of library: history, objectives, management, users and collections. Based on research sources noted that the Information Science, and more specifically the Librarianship has difficulty in defining what is Community Library. At the end of the article it appears the low amount of material, especially today, addressing the theme.
