THE CONTRIBUTION OF DOCUMENTARY LANGUAGE IN THE REPRESENTATION OF ARCHIVAL INFORMATION

Examines the contributions of Linguagem Documentária (LD) in the representation of archival information. It resorts to bibliographic research, undertaking a broad survey in the Base de Dados de Pesquisa em Ciência da Informação (BRAPCI) covering the period 1972 to 2022. It is a descriptive research regarding the systematization of terms and the classification of knowledge, understanding its importance for the user as a means to guide and facilitate access to information. For data analysis, it adopts a quanti-qualitative approach, emphasizing bibliometric analysis to quantify the data. This study shows that the use of terminology is essential in the application of documentary language in the Archival field, in order to organize and represent information, aiming at information retrieval. It encourages discussions around research and methodologies in the area of archival science in the representation of information through the usability of the documentary language and, consequently, in the retrieval of information.
