Abstract

The research analyses searches and uses from scientific information of Departamento de Ciência da Informação/UFPB’ teachers, this study has objectives to outline teachers’ profile, knowing your searches and uses from scientific information, identifying channels that they make use of obtaining scientific information, knowing the use they do with this information, verifying like this information is sown. It consists in users’ study, which has the purpose analyze information’s habits, necessities and uses. It makes part from research 21 teachers. The research has a methodological boarding the direct method and instrument of data collect used is the questionnaire. As for profile, characterizes teachers’ functional category, developed activities and ways to obtain information. In your searches and uses, the channels used, searched sources, purposes and how obtain necessary information. It concludes that teacher’s uses internet and journals like main information channels, they are informed constantly, and who use information to acquire knowledge and elaborate journal’ article. Teachers had adhered the digital age to maintain themselves informed, and this is the more used way and the most found obstacle, because the quantity of irrelevant information is great.
