PRESERVATION OF DIGITAL OBJECTS INFORMATION

Abstract

This article discusses the importance of preservation of digital objects and data media storage, so that future generations can have access to the information contained therein. We discuss the advantages and disadvantages of some of the strategies such as refreshing, encapsulation, migration, adhesion of standards, preparation of manuals or guides, social networking and partnerships among others. Thus it is intended to help professionals and information users choose appropriate strategies to apply in their files or private collections
