TERESINA: a study of professional Bachelor in Library

Abstract

With so many developments and changes, witnessing the transformation of information into a social phenomenon. Thus they directly affect the training of professionals who have the information as an object of study, as is the case of Bachelors of Library, thus, the study aims at reflecting on the look of a portion of the city of Teresina - PI about this behavior in order to clarify who they are, their powers and emerging trends from the demands of society in the information age, demystifying the profession that is still bound by many technical processes and the only traditional work environments such as libraries. We started with a literature search and forth with a field through interviews that seek to understand the issue from the perspective of a cut of 100 (one hundred) people about the profession and professional. Thus, it was necessary theoretical approaches through readings of Fonseca (1979), Tarapanoff (1997), Haesbaert (2006) Alvarenga Neto (2008), Mostafa and Pacheco (2009) among others.
