A methodological experience of research:
TV audience in a "rurban" city

The article aims at raising some questions and thinking about methodological alternatives which might contribute to the improvement and adaptation in the course of the investigation about television audiences in inland cities in Northeast Brazil Such issues as environmental peculiarities, sociability and urban development are often disregarded in the process of investigation when the survey reference is urban centers. This is actually a report of a field experience and of advances in research areas that value both common sense and academic knowledge, enabling the construction of methods and techniques of collecting mixed samples, both quantitative and quantitative data, dealing with local reality.
