The policy is one of those indispensable activities that, directly or indirectly, affects the totality of the members of a society, regardless of the feelings and positioning of this or that individual. However, once in a while, it is not uncommon to hear that it is in crisis or "bankrupt". Thus, taking as the object of study the representative democracy, this text makes a brief analysis of the policy from the writings of Arendt, in order to put into evidence its true relationship with its reason of being, this is freedom.
