Abstract

It is a proposal that analyzes how the Portuguese language government, driven by the colonial device (NEVES, 2015; 2020), helped to dismantle the indigenous resistance of the Mura of the Madeira River at the end of the Cabano movement. To do so, we consider Michel Foucault's theoretical-methodological framework within the framework of discursive studies (2010a; 2010b; 2010c; 2016a) and the conceptual operationalization that has been developed on linguistic management in the Amazon (LAVAREDA, 2021a; 2021b). Thus, in the quest to systematize the research, the technical procedures of the study have a documentary approach, using the Muhuraida work (WILKENS, 1989) and some monuments registered in the Public Archive of Pará as an instrument for the production of archives. The aim of this work is also to rethink the constitution of a governmentality of language at the time of the invasion of Brazilian territory and, at the same time, to reflect on the conditions of historical possibilities in which our linguistic heritage was discursivized from a matrix of European power instituting a linguistic disciplinarization in the Brazilian Amazon.
