About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Scandia: Journal of Medieval Norse Studies (ISSN: 2595-9107) is related to the Postgraduate Program of Religious Studies of the Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB). It is published by NEVE – Nucleus of Vikings and Scandinavian Studies, and it fosters approaches to Old Norse Studies, mainly the Viking Age. Published works include many perspectives from the Human Sciences concerning the journal’s general field of research, especially those regarding Mythology, Religion, History, Literature, and Archaeology.
The authors must have at least a Master’s degree and the journal does not charge any fees in order to publish any material.
Scandia publishes original papers, reviews, and translations in English, Portuguese, Spanish, French, and Italian. Works may be submitted continuously.

Peer Review Process
Scandia implements a double-blind policy for reviewing the submitted material, which is conducted by the Editorial Board and an external reviser. Authors are responsible for the grammar revision prior to submission.
The authors must have at least a Master’s degree and the journal does not charge any fees in order to publish any material. Scandia accepts material written in collaboration if both coauthors meet the minimal academic degree but works submitted by post-graduation students in collaboration with their mentors are not accepted.
Publication Ethics
Scandia - Journal of Medieval Norse Studies is a journal with scientific arbitration, committed to ensuring the highest ethical standards in the publication. The agreement of all parties involved in the publication act (Direction, members of the Editorial Board, authors, evaluators and the editor) in relation to the standards of ethical behavior is required. We defend the following principles of the declaration of ethics and good practices in publication, based on the Code of Conduct and Standards of Good Practice for Publishers of the Committee on Publication Ethics - COPE (available at http://publicationethics.org).
Statement on Artificial Intelligence and Use of Academic Materials
The Scandia Journal of Medieval Norse Studies recognizes the importance of innovations in Artificial Intelligence (AI), understanding the challenges and opportunities they entail. Authors who have used AI tools in editing a manuscript, producing images or graphic elements of their article, or in collecting and analyzing data, are invited to explicitly declare their use, mentioning the AI tool, the field of application, the uses of the search queries, and the date of use, in order to allow reproducibility and verification. Authors should include a footnote, after the author identification, "During the preparation of this article, the author(s) used [Name of tool/service] on [dd/mm/yyyy] using the search terms: [Search terms] for [Reason]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content as necessary and assume full responsibility for the content of the publication."
