Over the course of two days in late August, 2024, the Central Teaching Hub at the University of Liverpool (UK) became the stage for a conference on the women of the Viking World, gathering scholars from nearly twenty countries, and organized by a trio of inspired postgraduate students at the same university.

Author Biography

Kim Bergqvist, Stockholm University

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of History at Stockholm University. My dissertation project examines aristocratic insurrections, resistance, and political values in 13th- and 14th-century Castile-Leon and Sweden in a comparative fashion. I am a lecturer at DIS Stockholm, teaching courses on Viking Age and medieval Scandinavia. My other main research interests are the history of emotions, gender, queenship, and medieval fictionality.
