Resumo

The paper deals with and compares news media production in Brazil and Spain focusing on practices in which 360-degree cameras serve journalistic endeavors. Methodology consists of a literature review on innovation and technology applied to communication, as well as of interviews with media professionals who engage in producing such content. The study therefore proposes to reflect upon 1) a rush to apply technology-based routines in order to increase audience; 2) a quick gadget obsolescence and a constant need for updating language, with some lasting adjustments; 3) journalists’ training towards making technology a part of their production-oriented tasks; and 4) how important it is for the public to be targeted with a pedagogy and guidelines for journalism consumption.
