Abstract

The objective of this article is to show that it’s ongoing in the Sugarcane Agroindustrial Complex in São Paulo, from 2003, a new mechanization model of its agricultural activities. In this new model, the production of sugar cane takes place with a combination of manual and mechanized operations, both with high work intensification to attain maximum productivity. This explains why the replacement of living labor by dead labor isn’t complete in this complex, as in other sectors that passed through a modernization processes using new technical basis in the production. To carry out this work we used secondary data from different sources, especially from INPE - CANASAT and RAIS/CAGED, and primary data obtained directly in the field.
