Abstract

On the way has been taken linguistic competence in entrance exams, it´s became the object of our studies under the aegis of linguistic and textual support with special in Verbal Theory of Iconicity (Simões [1994] 2009). In order to contribute to the expansion of research and teaching in this area, we produce this article with two main objectives: (1) subsidize the Portuguese language classes for the preparation of high school students; (2) demonstrate some analyzes syntactic and morphological advised by verbal theory of iconicity. In order to prepare this article, we obtained theoretical support on languages ​​and codes in the works of Darcilia Simões, William Cherry, Umberto Eco, C. S. Peirce, M. A. K. Halliday, L. A. Marcuschi, Ingedore V. Koch, in addition to the National Curriculum (Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais)  and analyze the Vestibular Examinations (UERJ, Unicamp and ENEM), with the aim of demonstrating the contemporary trends that guide the collection of national exams in high school when it comes to proof languages​​, codes and their technologies.
