Abstract

The relationsbetween  language, society and cultureare so intimate that, sometimes it becomes a lot difficult to separate one fromanother or tell when one ends and the other begins. Some variations that arecalled regional, for many times can be social, if social, can be related to thespeakers that have a certain  generational factor, sexual factor oreven diaphasic. When you talk about regionalnortheastern speech, the lexical and the phonetics are the aspects from whichyou notice the difference between these speeches and the ones from otherbrazilian regions. In this work we will deal with the lexical aspects of thenortheastern speeches that are a trademark of this regional culture. Theanalysis of the examples that are presented here show us, in a very clear way,the relations that exist between language, society and culture, reinforcing, however, that is the language that connects them, because it reports to societyand culture in a very equal way.
