Abstract

Based on the conceptsof cognitive operation and transgressive path as defined by Fontanille in thestudy “Un point de vue sur ‘croire’ et ‘savoir’”, and also on the relationsbetween modalization, tension and subject identity drawn by Cruz in the article“Algumas considerações sobre o crer e o saber”, we undertake the analysis of apoem recited by Antônio Abujamra at the television show Provocações. This poem thematically explore the modalities knowingand believing and extract some sense effects from their opposition, exacerbation, attenuation and lack.
