Abstract

This article socializes reflections on how the multimodal oral seminar genre enables the expansion of students' oral skills.
In order to expand students' orality through an oral genre seen as a teachable object, we developed a didactic sequence along
the lines of DOLZ and SCHNEUWLY (2011), which privileged the multimodal elements that are inherent to the act of speech.
For this, we are based on the theoretical assumptions about oral genres and teachable objects by DOLZ and SCHNEUWLY (2011),
on the contributions on multimodalities by DIONÍSIO (2007), in addition to the aspect addressed in official documents National
Curriculum Parameters (1998), Guidelines Curriculum of the State of Mato Grosso (2010) and the National Common Curricular
Base (2016). The text consists of a brief introduction regarding the contributions of the official documents, the seminar
as a multimodal genre, the description of the stages of the didactic sequence and the final considerations,
in which the promising results of the work with the multimodal seminar genre are explored.
