INTERDISCIPLINARITY OF ARCHIVING WITH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Abstract

With the evolution of Information and Communication Technologies, there was an increase in the production of information and, consequently, of documents. Faced with this reality, Archivology had to adapt to this new form of documental and informational production, and continue to guarantee the safeguarding of archival documents. The objective of the research is to investigate the interdisciplinarity between the contents of archival science and information technologies, through undergraduate courses in Archival Science in the Brazilian Northeast. The methodology used in the research is of a basic nature, the objective is exploratory and the method is comparative, analyzing the similarities and differences in the curricular components focused on Information Technology in Archivology courses in the Northeast region of Brazil. The present work follows the quantitative and qualitative approach and to identify the disciplines focused on IT we used documentary and bibliographical research, consulting the websites of the selected universities for access to the respective syllabuses, Course Pedagogical Projects and Pedagogical Political Projects. As a result, we were able to identify which of the three Northeast Archivology courses stand out in relation to interdisciplinarity. It was possible to identify interdisciplinarity from the interdisciplinary terms present in the disciplines' menus.
