SCHOOL LIBRARY: (RE) THINKING ITS ROLE ON READERS FORMATION IN THE EDUCATIONAL CONTEXT

Abstract

The present research aims at identifying the School Library as a space of encounters that should provide to their users an atmosphere capable to forget their daily problems and to penetrate in world of knowledge through the books. Its main objective is to analyze how the reading practices contribute to the recognition of the school library for the reader’s formation in the educational context. It emphasizes the school library as a linked nucleus to the teacher’s pedagogic section and does not as a school’s appendix. It also aims at guiding students and teachers to the school research, helping them to build up the reading pleasure. The results point the school library as integral part of the school, where teacher and librarian work together developing playful activities which can help the students’ learning development and the school library starts to have a partner-educational function forming like this citizens reflexive critical and autonomous.
