Abstract

The technologies of the information and communication (TIC’s) has been responsible for the great transformations in the contemporary society, which are materialized in the work reorganization, in the production of businesses, goods and services, modifying the individuals’ relationships with the science, technology, knowledge and the work. In the contemporary world, the information is available to individuals through technologies innovation. These technologies are creating “libraries without walls for books without pages.” More known as Digital Libraries, these new forms and supports are transforming the current paradigms about information and communication. In this new information era we need to rethink the ethical models, cultural and mainly legal informational demands mainly those that appears in the Web. This research discusses the copyrights and the internet, specifically in what it refers about Paulo Freire Digital Library (BDPF) according to the Law 9610/98 and makes a diagnosis to what extent this Library is not in conformity to the mentioned Law.
