Abstract

Single case study, with the objective of observing and evaluating the changes that occurred within a school library during the COVID-19 pandemic, between the years 2020 and 2021. For this, a detailed report was made about the Eleva School Libraries before and during the pandemic, as well as defined what is a school library and what are its role in the community it served. For that, a documental and bibliographical research was carried out on the theme of school library, and consultation with official bodies about the recommendations for functioning during this pandemic period. For analysis, a comparison of activities and use of library space before the pandemic was performed, as well as the changes that had occurred. The theoretical framework supported the assessment of how the chosen library dealt with the pandemic. The results point to an alignment between the changes adopted in the studied libraries and the cited literature, such as the virtual reference system and online storytelling. It is concluded that the library dealt well with the changes caused by the pandemic, bringing its community closer to reading and to the library.
