The present work comprehensive approach to reading and library that starts from reading the world through the libertarian context of human language, which aims at communication and, mainly, the expansion of worldviews, through the context of who speaks of who reads and of whoever writes. On the path of liberation through reading, there is a text that carries with it a place of speech, the interpretant and the interpreted meet in the possible readings and adapt to the context, or circumstantial interpretations. The paths to these interpretive encounters are facilitated by the continuing education of professionals, by the image and status of the librarian and the library - which are raised to give access to information sources, with the example of the book and other forms of mediation in the library space. school. These school systems need to address access issues, but they must take into account cognitive aspects of the human person to promote reading practices. It is concluded that it is difficult for information to bring setbacks to citizen life, in this sense the school library has in its social function, the mission of going beyond the preservation of collections, that is, promoting the dissemination of useful information that promotes meaning for a citizen liberation, stimulating new skills and abilities for the entire librarian community in the country.
