Abstract

Libraries as information systems generate services with the aim of enabling people to develop skills in the use of new technologies produced by the Technosphere in the era of the Anthropocene. Based on the above, the objective is to determine some of the features that distinguish libraries as information systems in favor of the development of skills to interact with products and services that allow access to information. To respond to the research objective, some arguments have been compiled that help determine the social function of libraries in the era of the Anthropocene. According to the results, libraries as information systems denote adaptive features in their environment by attending to emerging needs in their user communities, from training in the operation of technological devices to digital literacy in the use of third-party services and products of the Technosphere.
