Abstract

This paper sets up the essential theoretical premises and analytical methodology developed by the author, in order to embody the “sonority” among the form structuring dimensions in 20th century music. Summarizing the research, which constitutes the main axis of the Mus3 research activities, the text outlines the means by which one can identify sonic objects from the score and pick up the way they may interact with other dimensions in a piece’s context. Moreover, the paper aims to serve as a source of references for the Brazilian reader, giving a comprehensive number of works which have dealt with the subject.
