Abstract

Based on the demand for a rural school located in an agrarian reform settlement and politically linked to the MST, in 2016 a curricular component and an extension project named Geography and Pedagogical Practices for education in the field were created in the course Geography of the Federal University of Ceará. The discipline and project aim to strengthen education in the field and fortify the relationship between University-field and social movements through extension, with workshops for continuing education in schools of basic education in the field. The activities in the discipline are diversified with readings of the texts, rounds of conversations with representatives of the social movements and researchers of the theme and planning of the workshops with application during the extension through the field work. Activities were carried out in different territories linked to rural movements in Ceará. This work will focus on the practice of 2018, held at the Joaquim Ribeiro dos Santos School, located in the Encantados do Bom Jardim and Lagoa das Pedras Quilombola Community, in Tamboril - Ceará, and, specifically, the Arguing Gender workshop, in which the authors participated. Multiple languages and dynamics were used to discuss gender theories and their issues, relating them to the school space and the subjects' experiences, to understand the reproduction of oppression roles and to establish possible pedagogical practices against hegemonies. The results of the activities reinforce the importance of building a dialogical education. In the current scenario, it’s essential for the University to be close to the field, popular movements and spaces of resistance against hegemony.
