CONTRIBUIÇÕES PARA A DINÂMICA COSTEIRA EM JOÃO PESSOA-PB: AS INFLUÊNCIAS DO HOTEL TAMBAÚ NAS PRAIAS DE TAMBAÚ E MANAÍRA

Abstract

This work was based on the study of two processes that bring about the most diverse consequences, ranging from the increase of the beach strip to its elimination, these processes are defined as progradation and retrogradation, respectively. This area is located in the city of João Pessoa-PB, more precisely on the beaches of Tambaú and Manaíra. This study aimed to verify the changes in the landscape resulting from the construction of the Hotel Tambaú, emphasizing the processes of progradation and retrogradation on the beaches of Tambaú and Manaíra, respectively. This area being a coastal landscape, research was started based on the theories of Sets and Systems. For that, it was necessary to use some instruments and research techniques such as: bibliographic research; cartographic research; field research; photographic record and cabinet work. After completing all these steps, it was concluded that the constructions made by man prevent the passage of sediments causing the processes of progradation and retrogradation and, consequently, the beach to the windward side of the hotel undergoes the process of progradation and, the beach located the leeward of the hotel undergoes the reverse process, that is, retrogradation. However, the intention to show that human interferences significantly alter the natural dynamics of a landscape, resulting in disorders that have put and still endanger private assets, public roads, leisure areas, among others, has been achieved.
