Abstract

This paper intends to bring reflections on Umbanda's spatial references in Brazil and its interface to afro-brazilian studies in School Geography. For this, a bibliographic study of articles and books that discuss about socio-cultural and historical-geographical aspects of Umbanda in Brazil. It was verified the importance of approaching these afro-brazilian phenomenon that is part of the culture and history of country and, brazilian territory formation; this also contributes to the questioning of religious prejudices and the recognition of the socio-spatial processes embedded in them.
