ZONEAMENTO DE ÁREAS DE RISCO GEOMORFOLÓGICO: CASO DO BAIRRO BELA VISTA (BARBALHA, CEARÁ)

The municipality of Barbalha, located in the south of state of Ceará, presents areas susceptible to geomorphological risks, as was analyzed in the mapping of risks areas elaborated in the Bela Vista neighborhood. This mapping adopted the methodological procedures of the Institute of Technological Research – ITR , recommended by the Government of Cities, application the cartographic base elaborated by PROURB - city of Ceará, available by the City hall of Barbalha (2015), scale 1: 10,000, Datum SAD 69 re-designed for SIRGAS 2000 in Arcgis 9.3 software. In the Bela Vista neighborhood, two risks sectors denominated "sector 10", with high risk and "sector 11" were mapped, with medium risk. Both present processes active as furrows, profound ravines and small-scale planar landslides in several points of the embankment, aggravated by the absence of adequate management by the residents. From the results achieved, it is understood the mapping of areas of geomorphological risk can contribute to environmental planning and disaster prevention in the municipality.
