Temperature is one of the most important meteorological elements, as it translates the energetic and dynamic states of the atmosphere and consequently reveals the atmospheric circulation. municipality of Bom Jesus do Piauí, providing subsidies to government researchers and decision makers and especially in agriculture. It was used the series of average temperature (ºC) between the years 1960-2018, these data were acquired from the conventional meteorological station of the National Institute of Meteorology. Monthly averages, annual and seasonal totals were calculated for the seasons: summer, autumn, winter and spring. The moving average for five and ten years was calculated for the studied variable. Elevation and latitude are the physiographic variables that best explain the variation in annual temperature and thermal variability between seasons in the study area. The fluctuations in the average temperature result from the synoptic systems operating at the time of the rainy and dry period, as well as from the impacts on the environment, and these fluctuations may be related to the factors causing and/or inhibiting the intermunicipal rainfall indices.
