ENSINO DE GEOGRAFIA COM ÊNFASE NO PENSAMENTO CIENTÍFICO - UMA ABORDAGEM INVESTIGATIVA E REFLEXIVA

The study addresses difficulties observed in teaching scientific theories in Geography teaching, which can be explained by the influence of popular and media opinion, and also by the lack of specific didactic resources. The methodology consists of bibliographic review and bibliographical research procedures. Scientific theories were selected based on two criteria, namely: (i) correlation with geographic science; and (ii) historical record of its rejection, review and recognition by the scientific community. The didactic proposal is based on a discussion of theories, considering facts related to their rejection-acceptance, their contributions to science and academic work based on the teaching of these theories. Among the main reasons for disapproval of the studied theories are the scientific limitations and the control exercised by authorities and institutions of different times and places. The methods and didactic resources analyzed include efficient teaching-learning alternatives in Geography.
