The municipality of Princesa Isabel in the Intermediate Geographical Region of Patos faces a process of environmental degradation due to socioeconomic activities mostly associated with agriculture, enhanced by the inefficiency of management instruments that allow the optimization of territorial planning. Thus, the present research aimed to evaluate the use and land cover in the municipality of Princesa Isabel - PB on a Temporo-Spatial scale. Its development took place through a bibliographic review, visits to the study area, and the elaboration of thematic maps developed in the free software QGIS. The maps were worked on a time scale, using images from the LANDSAT 5 and 8 satellites for the years 1985, 1998, 2005, 2017, and 2020, chosen according to the rainfall variation in the region. The results obtained show an intense variation in the use and coverage of the municipality over the years, with the observation of the growth of vegetative classes in recent years, a phenomenon that may be associated with the development of human activities and rainfall variation. Furthermore, the prevalence of semi-dense and dense vegetation was evident in higher portions of the municipality, while in the flatter areas there was an intense development of anthropic activities, with a predominance of the sparse class of vegetation, and exposed soil.
