This study analyzes the rainfall in the territory of the Seridó Geopark – RN during the period from 2005 to 2020, considering a spatio-temporal analysis. For this purpose, precipitation data from 14 rain gauges distributed within and around the territory of the Seridó Geopark were used. The rainfall analysis was conducted based on statistical analyses and the estimation of its spatial distribution through spatial interpolation, in a GIS environment, using the IDW method. The territory of the Seridó Geopark is located in a Depression Sertaneja area and has a rainy season that is concentrated in the first half of the year, covering the months from January to May, with the highest precipitation concentrations occurring from February to May. There is interannual rainfall variation with high levels and discrepancies throughout the analyzed period. Regarding the spatial variability of precipitation, it is influenced by the ITCZ and the mEa, the main atmospheric systems operating in the region, in addition to the influence of the relief exerted by the Borborema Plateau, which has a significant effect, being responsible for the reduction of moisture coming from the Atlantic Ocean.
