Abstract

In brazilian Geography, the debate about youths as political subjects and social agents is recent. This paper presents the results of research that builds the state of the art on youth in scientific Geography events in Brazil, specifically in the proceedings of the National Meeting on Geography Teaching Practice (ENPEG) and the National Meeting of Geographers (ENG). After surveying the works published since 2010 and organizing the data about them, 21 productions were located on the subject. The articles mainly address the territorial analysis of interactions between young people and space, youth school protagonism, their civic education and perspectives on life and the future, given their material conditions of existence and experiences.

Victor Hugo Nedel Oliveira, UFRGS

Doutor em Educação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS). Licenciado e Mestre em Geografia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). Pós-Doutorado em Educação pela Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (PUCRS) e em Sociologia pela Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). É Professor Adjunto e Pesquisador do Departamento de Geografia e do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Geografia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS). É Pesquisador PqG (Programa Pesquisador Gaúcho/FAPERGS). Foi Professor Visitante nas seguintes Universidades: Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), Universidad de Valladolid (UVa/Espanha) e na Universidad Nacional de La Plata (UNLP/Argentina). É membro da REDEJUVE (Rede de Pesquisa em Juventude no Brasil). Realizou formação em psicanálise. Foi professor da escola básica por mais de 10 anos nas redes pública estadual e federal e na rede privada, em Porto Alegre/RS. É líder do GEPJUVE - Grupo de Estudos e Pesquisas em Juventudes e Educação (UFRGS/CNPq). Participa de diversos Grupos de Pesquisa. É parecerista AdHoc de diversos periódicos científicos. Seus principais interesses de pesquisa giram em torno dos seguintes temas: Geografias das Juventudes; Culturas juvenis contemporâneas; Juventudes; Jovens; Sociologia das Juventudes; Educação/Escola; Ensino de Geografia; Geografia Urbana; Território/Territorialidades.
