Abstract

The so-called ‘Euro crisis’ affects European Community institutions, calling into question the democratic process in the European Union. Decisions are met within the framework of intergovernmental relations under German orders. In fact, those who govern Europe are markets and large financial conglomerates, based on risk assessments of American rating agencies. This ‘Europe of capital’ is dominated by bankers, speculators, by the owners of Goldman Sachs and the lords of the Trilateral Commission, in collaboration with the Brussels bureaucracy and governments of most Member States. This is a critical text, in which the author denounces, with genuine and coherent dissatisfaction, financial conglomerates as being the true holdings of the systemic crimes of current European capitalism.
