The objective of this study is to discuss linguistic constitution of the subject in both the identity and cultural dimensions of African immigrants residing in Brazil. This study analyzes the language of the subject who lives an inter-language phenomenon, using the enunciative anthropological view, based on the enunciation theory of Émile Benveniste (2005, 2006). This study is an analysis of the linguistic phenomena present in statements of African subjects collected in the documentary, “Stronghold of African immigrants, [the neighborhood of] Republic consolidates itself as ‘Little Africa’ in São Paulo” available via the YouTube channel CartaCapital. In the overlapping of language, man, culture and society, preliminary data shows conflicts experienced by immigrants finding themselves as subjects, which is an effect of language in a linguistic and sociocultural reality different from their place of origin, but which is now their place of experience.
