The evaluation process consists of two stages: internal desk review by the journal and external peer review by two ad hoc reviewers. The first stage, the desk review, includes screening through applications for the detection of plagiarism, self-plagiarism, and the undue use of artificial intelligence in the manuscript. Manuscripts that do not comply with the submission guidelines are immediately rejected. The author may then submit a new, duly corrected version of the manuscript. Once approved in the first stage, articles proceed to the second stage of external evaluation, following the double-blind peer review criteria as recommended by CAPES. After this phase, the manuscript may be rejected, accepted, or accepted with revisions. The final version then undergoes Portuguese language editing.
