FROM IDEA TO PRACTICE
THE HISTORIC AND THE EVENTS THAT MADE BRICS POSSIBLE.
Abstract
This article aims to elucidate some facts that promoted the consolidation of an institutional project, that integrates the member countries of the BRICS. The consultation of documents and articles was used as a way to elucidate the facts and compose the broader understanding of the actions taken towards a common positioning of the group's members, including the consolidation of a project for greater autonomy for emerging countries in the global relations. As the main protection instruments, in 2014, two tools were created for financial security and financing of infrastructure projects, these being ACR and NDB, respectively. Nevertheless, we tend to focus our attention to the role that Brazil played in this process, which earned it central status in diplomatic conferences involving China, South Africa, Russia and India.
