This article consists of an attempt, not exhaustive, to carry out considerations about the new position occupied by Brazil in South America, focusing on the Brazilian attempt to produce an environmental policy centered on diplomacy. Efforts are made to draw a parallel between the Amazon Fund, the recreation of UNASUR, the appreciation of ACTO and the performance of programs and initiatives such as the Amazon Fund, the New PAC and the Energy Transition Plan. Thereby, it seeks to demonstrate the role of the Brazilian government – led by president Lula – as a regional leader in environmental guidelines.
