De Bifröst ao infinito: Borges e a Islândia

Resumo: As mitologias escandinava e germânica permearam as ações e as publicações do escritor Jorge Luis Borges de forma direta e indireta, especialmente no que se refere à Islândia. Conhecimentos que ele adquiriu no estudo das Sagas islandesas e das Eddas serviram para publicações de poemas e outros textos de sua autoria. Este trabalho propõe uma breve análise das principais obras do autor referentes à herança cultural islandesa, que totalizam oito composições, como também os contextos familiares e geopolílicos em que o autor esteve inserido para alcançar o sucesso literário. Compreender a literatura borgiana é essencial para entender as relações entre América do Sul e Escandinávia. Porém, mais que isso: perceber como a referência a textos medievais e culturas ancestrais pode influenciar relações internacionais hodiernas, principalmente em períodos de conflitos, como foi a época de Borges na primeira metade do século XX.
